XML Parser

XML Parser iconThis is the homepage of my XML Parser for Delphi. Here you can find information about the parser, documentation, and download the parser files.

I hope you enjoy my parser. I have done my best to keep it simple, to allow for a steep learning curve and, most of all, to make it one of the fastest XML parsers available.

Please contact me for notes, bug reports and questions.

If you want to be notified about updates to the parser, just send me a mail and let me know. I promise that I will not use your e-mail address for any other purpose than this!

Features

TXmlParser is a lightweight ObjectPascal/Delphi language XML parser. By leaving out syntax checking, well-formedness checks and/or validation, and by choosing a progressive scanning technique, this parser is very fast.

Unicode Support

TXmlParser's support of Unicode is currently limited to single-byte character sets. Considering my current knowledge about Unicode (I do talks on tech conferences about it), it is in fact quite embarrassing how bad the Unicode support is. But then my time is limited and it is as it is.

Whenever I will find some time I will do it right. Promised.

Delphi 2009/2010 Support

Starting with version 1.0.19, the XML parser will compile and work with Delphi 2009 and its successors. However, the parser's interface is restricted to AnsiString support. So when you use the newer Delphi versions, you should use this parser only when you want to migrate old code that uses my parser.

.NET Support

The XML parser code is highly optimized for native code and is not usable for .NET (too many PChars and pointer operations :-)

FAQ

How can I parse empty-element tags? How can I get attribute values? How to process UTF-8? May I use the parser for commercial projects?
